Civil

With the unification of the Municipal and Superior Courts, the unified court has jurisdiction over all civil cases.

Limited Civil

The claims that used to be filed in the Municipal Court are now referred to as Limited Civil. The amount claimed is up to $25,000.00. Generally, amounts under $7,500.00 are filed in Small Claims Court.

Unlimited (General) Civil

The claims that used to be filed in Superior Court are now referred to as Unlimited Civil. Generally, they are cases where the amount claimed is more than $25,000.00.

It is the policy of this court to manage all cases from the time the complaint is filed until a final disposition has been achieved. Upon the filing of the complaint, the case shall be assigned to one judge for all purposes.
